Alpine F1 Team competes in the FIA Formula One World Championship with driver lineup of Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto. Team principle of the team is Flavio Briatore, the team won the Hungarian Grand Prix in its first year of competition in 2021 and scored a podium finish at the Qatar Grand Prix to finish fifth in the Constructors’ Championship.

Alpine is the French sports car brand founded in 1955 by Jean Rédélé and is today Renault Group’s dedicated brand for innovative, authentic and exclusive sports cars. Aston Martin Aramco Formula One team has competed under the name Aston Martin since 2021, this is a return to the paddock after leaving Formula 1 after 1960. The team’s current line-up includes 2 time world chamption Fernando Alonso and podium finisher Lance Stroll. The team is owned by Lawrence Stroll who took over the team as Racing Point.

The format provides an ideal opportunity for students to demonstrate their engineering knowledge and test and improve their capabilities to deliver a complex and integrated product in the demanding environment of a motorsport competition.

All students taking part get a chance to demonstrate their technical analysis, engineering design and manufacturing skills whilst having to meet a strict deadline. Learning lessons along the way in team work, time management, project management, budgeting and presentation. This will give them experience in the skills prospective employers will be looking for and setting them up for a career in engineering.

The Gay Classic Car Group (GCCG) was founded in 1988 and now has over 1300 active members across the UK promoting local, national, and international events for the LGBTQ+ community.  Winning ‘Car Club of the Year’ in 2019 amongst other accolades helped to secure the GCCG’s place in the mainstream classic car movement.  In 2021 we were delighted to partner with Racing Pride at a track day event at Snetterton and displayed one of their cars at the NEC Classic Car Show later that year.  We look forward to working with Racing Pride to improve LGBTQ+ inclusivity across the racing and classic car worlds much more widely.  The GCCG membership also looks forward to becoming more actively involved with the world of racing.
